Will I ever Learn?

Standard

The following is a letter that really touch my heart. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.Mary Adams (25 Jan 2015)
“Will I ever learn, God?”

Will I never learn, Lord?
Will I ever reach far enough into your words to allow understanding to penetrate a mind that is so opposed to some of your ways?
The world tugs and tears at mine, for vengeance satisfies with a temporary ephoria— to make me feel justified and
convinced I have done the right thing. But personal blame and guilt has been buried behind in a sepeculre I chiseled with my own hands,
and a heavy stone seals the gravesite.  I go my way, and am convinced I have done God’s will.
Jesus’s words shroud me like a cloak I wear to keep me warm and comforted.  I understand what He says about love and forgiveness, but there are times when that mantle slips off my shoulders and exposes a part of my spiritual skin to a damp coldness. Without anyone pointing it out, I know that a part of me lacks total acceptance of all His words.  I WANT that warmth which most of it brings to me, but am afraid to trust all if it completely, for it makes no sense to me.You plainly taught your disciples something that was totally opposed to both our human nature and their religious precepts.  They rejoiced to see your many miracles and be a witness to incredible and indisputable proofs that you were Messiah.  They believed in you. But then you said:
“You have heard that it has been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate your enemy. BUT I SAY UNTO YOU,
love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully
use you and persecute you”. (Matthew 5:43-44)
Men that behead children?  Men that slaughter, rape, dismember, enslave innocent people?  Who ram airplanes into tall buildings, who
destroy and do dispictable acts of violence in the name of their god?
Love them? Bless them? Do good to them? Pray for them?

Righteous indignation rises up inside of me:  Absolutely not!  They should be wiped off the face of the earth!  Destroy them all! Get rid of such people!  Are you telling me, Lord, we should just lay down and let them continue their reign of terror?
This is what has troubled me most.
Until now.
For it suddenly occurred to me that hundreds of years ago it was such a terrorist that brought the gospel to me, a Gentile. That a man, so obsessed with his religion, he “ravaged the church, entering house after house, dragging off men and women and put them in prison”.  A man who watched, and held the coats of those who stoned a young Christian named Stephen to death and personally stood and watched  them doing it.  And who, afterwards, went to obtain legal permission to go to Damascus and root out those Christians who had escaped dangers in Jerusalem.
This terrorist gathered a cohort of men to accompany him to carry out this purge.  But on that road, as they neared Damascus, this terrorist, “breathening out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord” was suddenly struck by a blinding light from heaven, and he fell to the earth and heard a voice saying unto him, “Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? I am Jesus, whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks”. (Acts 9)
Pricks?
As I re-read this story, I wondered.   What were these “pricks”?  Could it be Stephen’s last words he overheard him pray?  “Lord, lay not this sin to their charge”.  That perhaps this terrorist Saul might have wondered, how could he do that?
One man’s last prayer was for those killing him.  And so was Jesus’: “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do”.
I remember reading the testimony of that Japanese squadron commander of the Pearl Harbor attack.  After the war, he was called to the war trials in Tokyo. On his way out of the court house, as young airman named Jake DeShazer was standing, handing out tracts he had
made which said, “I was a prisoner of the Japanese for 3 1/2 years.  But I love the Japanese people”.  He had found Jesus as his Lord while in that prison, and his tract was to tell how it happened.  He spoke of Jesus’ crucifixion and His last words, “Father, forgive them. For they know not what they do”.  He urged whoever read the tract to find a Bible and read about it.  That Japanese man, Mitsuo Fuchido, went and purchased a Bible, returned to his hotel room, and read that story, fell down beside his bed, and found Jesus Chrit in his heart.  Both men later became evangelists in the country of Japan.
So I wondered.
For this terrorist Saul later wrote in one of his letters to Timothy:
..the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty to the pulling down of strongholds”.
Could anyone ever understand it better than him?
Is there a powerful meaning I have overlooked—that our loving, sincere prayers for these cowardly, brutal terrorists might possibly cause another “Damascus road event” in some of their lives?
I cannot take part of Jesus’ words and leave that which I don’t like.  And to pray it with sincerity?
For myself, it will be difficult to do.  But if I cannot, then I must pray someone will pray for me—for I surely am the one needing a bright light and a voice from heaven too.

Jubilee Cycle

Standard

The following letter explains how to correctly identify the years of the Jubilee. Understanding this was the last piece of the rapture puzzle to me. I first found this information in The Equation by Malcolm Isted but Sherry Vance explains it very well.

Why is this important?

The beginning of Jesus’ ministry

Did you know that Jesus BEGAN his public ministry with a quote about the Jubilee?

He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day and stood up to read. 17. And there was given Him the book of the prophet Isaiah . . . 18. “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me; for this reason, He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal those who are brokenhearted, to proclaim pardon to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to send forth in deliverance those who have been crushed, 19. To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord…” (Luke 4)

Jesus was quoting from Isaiah 61, verses 1 and 2 but He didn’t finish the quote because the mission of His first coming was stated in the first part.. The rest of the quote is for His second coming. It continues with “and the day of vengeance of our God.”  This is a major clue as to the timing of His return. It will be in a year of Jubilee. The next Jubilee will be announced on Yom Kippur 2022. If Jesus doesn’t return then, he will not come for another 50 years! (Remember there is a difference between His return and the rapture. The rapture is 7 years prior to His return)

Sherry Vance (11 Jan 2015) “Reply to “blgloden”, “Greg W” and “Jan J”  (4 Jan 2015)”

I’m addressing this to all three correspondents above because I believe my response will be relevant to all three of you, including anyone else who is interested in the timeline.

First of all, thank you to blgloden for pointing out my error of omitting 1880-1881.  You are the ONLY ONE who caught this, or at least cared enough to point it out.  The reason I am indebted to you is because your keen observation caused me to go back and re-evaluate the timeline.  I made a blind error but God meant it for good, for He used it to CONFIRM the timeline once again.  Please allow me to explain.

To begin to create a timeline based on the Sabbath and Jubilee cycles I started with the History of Israel, with the conventional knowledge that in 1917 General Allenby captured Jerusalem from the Turks and fifty years later in 1967, Israel captured Jerusalem in the Six Day War.  What has been assumed (and which I had always assumed as well) was they were Jubilee Years.

After blgloden pointed out my omitted-year blunder, I went back to “fix” the problem…and couldn’t!

I had to re-evaluate the timeline because I knew that in accordance with what most people believed, counting every 50th year was a Jubliee…..and try as I might….when the missing year 1880-1881 was inserted, it, of course, threw off the chronological years for the Sabbaths &  Jubilees.  NOW WHAT?… (she thought as she banged her head against the wall…).

Enter the book which RandyW introduced last week > The Equation.  I had read Malcolm Isted’s “The Equation” 2 years ago.  I had forgotten how he explained the how, what & why of the Jubilee cycles.

The FACT is: the Jubilee pattern adheres to a strict rigid timeframe tied to the Sabbatical cycles outlined in Leviticus 25; and that is the “pattern of 7×7=49 yrs. of Sabbaths + 1 yr = 50 years = the Jubilee year, “when Israel shall consecrate the 50th year and proclaim liberty throughout all the Land to all its inhabitants.  It shall be a Jubilee for you…..”.(vs. 1-10).  Therefore, the REQUIREMENT OF A JUBILEE IS ANCHORED TO THE SABBATHS, BUT IT IS TIED INEXPLICABLY TO ISRAEL BEING IN THE LAND  > “And the Lord spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai, saying, “Speak to the children of ISrael, and say to them: “When you come into the land which I give to you, then the land shall keep a sabbath to the Lord.” (Lev. 25:1-2)

My mistake was in starting the timeline going back to ‘1867 & 1917′ showing those years to be jubilee years’ when they were NOT because Israel was not officially and legally yet back in the Land!!!….and the Jubilee Cycle could NOT be observed….and indeed it was not, for the reason: how, or who, could the land revert back to while they were not officially or legally in it?   Realizing this, I went back and looked at history leading to the State of Israel, which Malcolm Isted summarizes so simply in The Equation.  The FACT is, the promise of a national homeland made to the Jews in 1917, only became legally effective in 1923 when the British Mandate for Palestine (including TransJordan) took effect from 1923-1948.  Of course between 1923-1948 there were numerous laws, resolutions, and treaty obligations to be taken into account, until finally in November 1947 the United Nations took a vote with a 2/3 majority to partition western Palestine into a Jewish and an Arab state.  It was called UN Resolution 181 and though the final division greatly limited the size of what had been promised to them, the Jews accepted it out of sheer desperation for a homeland.  (Is it any wonder why God was/is not only angry at the nations who treated His people this way, but they DIVIDED HIS LAND….”THE LAND SHALL NOT BE SOLD PERMANENTLY, FOR THE LAND IS MINE; FOR YOU ARE STRANGERS AND SOJOURNERS WITH ME.”) Lev. 25:23

So to make a long story short(er), the Jubilee cycle is measured by cycles in the land of Israel and it must have terminated when the Jews were put OUT of the land in 70 AD…..and alternatively, the Jubilee cycle began again in 1923 when they were legally put back IN the land (although it still took 25 years to be officially fulfilled in May 1948 (even though ‘aliyas’ (immigration) had been going on via the Zionist activities since the mid-1800’s.

So with all that in mind, let’s start the timeline of the Sabbatical & Jubilee cycles in modern day Israel when they were officially & legally granted the, albeit limited, land area that God had covenanted to them…..(which is also why God has a beef with the nations.)

                                   TIMELINE

1917-1918

* Gen. Allenby captures Jerusalem from Turks on Hannukah, Dec. 9, 1917; however………..

* Israel was not yet officially, nor legally, back in the Land.  The Jubilee cycles had been suspended when they were put out of the land in 70 AD and the Jubilee cycle would not resume until they were officially & legally back in the land.  That fulfillment would become legally effective when the Treaty of Sevres was remodeled by the Treaty of Lausanne, Switzerland, on July 24, 1923, exactly a year after the Palestine Mandate came into being.

1918-1919

1919-1920

1920-1921

1921-1922

1922-1923

Tishrei 1, Sept. 11, 1923 BEGAN THE MODERN-DAY JUBILEE CYCLE

* On July 24, 1923, the Treaty of Lausanne, Switzerland signifcantly remodeled the terms of the Treaty of Sevres (by which the Ottoman Empire was split up) and finally, after numerous disputed, conflicting, shifting boundaries, political ambitions & negotiations among the nations, all the legal processes had been completed, paving the way for the creation of the Jewish state and re-birth of the modern day Jubilee cycle, in which God states: “When you come into the land which I give you, then the land shall keep a sabbath to the Lord.”  Thus, the “decree went out” and on the Hebrew calendar, Tishrei 1, September 11, 1923, the Jubilee cycle was officially & legally re-established.   (The sabbaths could now be counted for the purpose of re-establishing the Jubilee cycle.)

* WWII ends August 15, 1945

* The post WW II / Holocaust message was clear:  the only future for the Jewish

survivors was to be found in their ancient homeland.  Only in their own Sovereign

State would the Jews be safe.  Just as Moses had led the ancient Hebrews out of

Egypt, the Zionist leadership was to take them out of Europe.  So, Israel was “officially pregnant” from 1923, however, the BIRTH of the Jewish Nation (for the 2nd time) was now AT HAND!

and reunified Jerusalem….this is the generation which will NOT pass away, as did the generation (20 years of age and upward) of the Exodus  before they could enter the Promised Land.  THIS is the generation which will enter the Millennial Kingdom on Earth!

1991-1992 – 5 yr

1992-1993 – 6 yr

1993-1994 – 7 yr – Sabbath yr   (3rd week of yrs)

* Oslo Accords (Land for Peace) signed on Sept. 13, 1993 and presented to the world ON  Rosh HaShanah Sept. 16, 1993.

* Oslo was a “Rehearsal” for the 70th Week because the 70th Week will also

begin with a Land Agreement – confirming the (Abrahamic) Covenant.

* Oslo was signed in a Sabbath year belonging to the previous Sabbatical cycle, therefore it was outside (before) the beginning of the new Sabbatical cycle which would begin the Three Weeks of Jacob’s Trouble.  It was also outside (before) the ending of the 6th Day/6,000 yrs in the year 2000/Hebrew year of 5760.

* Therefore, Oslo is the lead-in rehearsal to The THREE WEEKS of JACOB’S TROUBLE (three sets  of 7 years (777) totaling 21 years following the 3 chapters of Jacob’s Trouble in Genesis 29, 30, 31.)

* Analogy >  * Jacob desired Rachel and contracted with Laban to labor for 7 years for her hand in marriage.  But Laban deceived Jacob and lied to him, for he had no intention of giving his younger daughter before the eldest.

* Israel desired Peace and contracted negotiations with Arafat & the PLO for the next 7 years; but Yassar Arafat had no intention of agreeing to peace with Israel and had, in fact, even refused to remove from the PLO Charter the written intention to annihilate Israel.

1993-2000 would 7 years of a “lied-to-agreement.”

1994-1995 – 1st year in new cycle

1995-1996 – 2 yr

1996-1997 – 3 yr

1997-1998 – 4 yr

1998-1999 – 5 yr

1999-2000 – 6 yr

2000-2001 – 7 yr – Sabbath yr   (4th week of yrs)

* Israel’s Rabbis declare the end of 6,000 yrs according to the Hebrew calendar.

* 6th day ends, 7th day begins.  The 7th Day is the ‘Last Day’ / the Sabbath Day / the Lord’s Day.   It is also the same as Hosea’s 3rd Day…and “in the third day He will raise us up.”

* Israeli Rabbis announce: “We have entered The Time of Jacob’s Trouble (which Israel/”Jacob will be saved out of.”)

* The Intifada begins – On September 28, 2000, just after dawn, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon enters the Temple Mount.  He states “I came here with a message of peace.”

2001-2002 – 1st year in new cycle

* FIRST WEEK OF JACOB’S TROUBLE

* The Intifada had begun on September 28, 2000, just after dawn, when Prime Minister Ariel Sharon entered the Temple Mount.  He stated “I came here with a message of peace.”

* Analogy: Jacob had come to Laban in peace, and agreed to labor for 7 years for the desire of his heart (Rachel/Peace) but it had been a lied-to-agreement.  But so strong was his love for Rachel/Peace that even after being deceived, he agrees to labor ANOTHER 7 YEARS in order to acquire the desire of his heart, but is instead, subjected to much ‘trouble.’

* The Arab Intifada (uprising) continues amid false accusations of atrocities, massacres, and instigation upon Israel.  For the remainder of this Sabbatical cycle, Israel will experience terror, suicide bombers, bus bombings, etc. at the hands of Esau’s descendants, the Arab Palestinians.

2002-2003 – 2 yr

2003-2004 – 3 yr

2004-2005 – 4 yr

2005-2006 – 5 yr

2006-2007 – 6 yr

2007-2008 – 7 yr – Sabbath yr   (5th week of yrs)

* Sabbath year begins quieter than the previous 6 yrs have been primarily due to Israel’s completion of the “Fence” (and in some areas “Wall” separating Arab & Jewish settlements) which prevented suicide bombers and terrorists from crossing into Jewish settlements.)

* Analogy: Jacob had now completed 14 years of laboring in Laban’s household, working to marry

Laban’s daughters (Leah & Rachel).  He was now no longer “under contract” and during this “quiet” year, Rachel conceived and bare Joseph, after which Jacob considered going “home” to his own country.  But Laban asks him to “tarry” and he will pay whatever wages Jacob wants.  Jacob considers and accepts, turning his attention to his “economy“, building wealth and an inheritance from among Laban’s herds & flocks.

2008-2009 – 1st year in new cycle

* SECOND WEEK OF JACOB’S TROUBLE

* At the very start of the new Sabbatical cycle & 2nd Week of Jacob’s Trouble, global attention focuses on the economy (just as the analogy shows Jacob had turned his attention to his economy) because on Rosh Hashanah, Sept. 29, 2008 the Stock Exchange crashes at 777.68 (Three sevens plus .68 for the Hebrew year 5768.)  Personally, I consider this a “heads-up” warning from God that on Rosh Hashanah 5768  we had entered the exact middle seven of the three sevens that herald the LAST DAYS….or > 7x7x7=21 years) = 1994 + 21 = 2015.

* Barack Hussein Obama elected President, giving him a seat of power and possibly setting the stage for the coming antichrist.  Obama’s Muslim identification with Islam and his obvious actions designed to destroy the Constitution of the United States may become the cause of the decline and destruction of America, and possibly one of the reasons the U.S. is not seen as a world power in the last days.

2009-2010 -2 yr

2010-2011 – 3 yr

2011-2012 – 4 yr

2012-2013 – 5 yr

* Solar eclipse on…………………Oct. 23, 2014

Analogy:  Comparing the analogy in Genesis with this last Sabbatical year of the 2nd Week of Jacob’s Trouble, we see that Jacob has finally left Laban and he is on his way home.  We know that God is watching over him because the angels of God met him as he left Laban behind and went on his way.  (The archangel Michael is the chief angel over Israel and his warrior angels are accompanying Jacob and his family on their way home.  Michael guards God’s chosen people.  This is necessary for Jacob is about to tremble and wrestle with God….and “he will prevail.”

* Night begins to fall and Jacob makes the best preparations (the IDF) that he can to provide for his ‘family’s safety against Esau, but he is wary and afraid.  He goes to bed but gets back up and divides his family into 2 separate camps so as to preserve at least a remnant if they are attacked.  (This can be seen even in the recent Gaza War – Jacob’s strategy is to move his people back from the borders and create a buffer zone for their safety.)  Satisfied as much as he can be, Jacob was left alone.

* Alone indeed, even now, Jacob is experiencing an expotential rise in worldwide anti-semitism…..again.  Jacob is condemned for defending himself.  Jacob has no true allies anymore.  He is alone and the night is upon him.

* I believe by this coming Spring, Jacob will be faced with fulfilling the Battles of Psalm 83 and Isaiah 17, where he will finally subdue Esau’s decendants (the Palestinians) and Damascus will become a heap of ruins. These enemies are never mentioned again in context with the coming Battle of Ezekiel 38/ Gog & Magog (the hooks in the jaws, bringing Russia & Iran down upon Israel to plunder and take a spoil.)

* But until the Battle of Ezekiel 38, Jacob is still “secular”, meaning, as a Nation, they have never truly acknowledged and honored the God of Abraham, Isaac, & Jacob.  But after the Battle of Ezekiel, Israel will just have witnessed & experienced God’s deliverance from their certain annilhilation.  And so Jacob wrestles (spiritually) with the Angel of the Lord – he doesn’t let go – he wrestles to understand  this supernatural intervention & deliverance when he had been left alone in the world, and Jacob finally recognizes the God of his fathers who delivered him and he asks the ‘man’ to bless him before he will release Him.  Jacob is renamed Israel because he has prevailedand Israel once again becomes God’s people and God says He will again be their God.

* NOW Israel is prepared to enter his last Week as per Daniel 9:24 – “Seventy Weeks are determined upon thy people and upon the holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to annoint the most Holy.”  And so the 70th Week begins

2015-2016 – 1st year in new cycle – BEGINNING OF THE 70TH WEEK

* I believe that on the eve of Rosh HaShanah, September 13, 2015, during the darkness of the new moon, the full number of Gentiles will have come in and the Church Age of Grace will end, and the Resurrection of the dead-in-Christ and the Rapture of the living believers will take place, fulfilling the first Fall Feast, the Feast of Trumpets….and it will happen at the very ‘Last Trump’ – the longest and loudest of the 100 that are sounded at that time.

* Regardless of what the proponents of the heretical “Replacement Theology” teach, God is not finished with Israel.  He will bring them to Redemption in their last/70th Week.  But He will first bring the Church Age of Grace to a close at the Resurrection & Rapture of all Believers and then turn His full attention to Israel, His Glory!  And He will cleanse the earth of the spilled blood of the innocent by requiring the blood of the guilty in the 7th Seal blood judgments of the 7 Trumpets and 7 Bowls.  THIS is what the 70th Week is for!….”to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.” (Dan. 9:24)

The Lord is now preparing to set the captives free!

* THIRD WEEK OF JACOB’S TROUBLE BEGINS

* THE 70TH WEEK OF DANIEL BEGINS

* ISRAEL AND THE WORLD NOW ENTER THE DAY OF THE LORD!

It may be helpful to think of these next 7 years 2015-2022 as one complete “day”, or evening &  morning: the night Jacob wrestles with the Lord, and in the morning he lifts up his eyes as he (ISRAEL) recognizes The Messiah and is redeemed. But much will take place during that “evening & morning” constituting “The DAY of the Lord” before Israel’s reconciliation & redemption takes place.

1st  year of the 70th Week

*  Israel has once again turned back to God in recognition of His deliverance and now

calls for their Temple to be built so they can return (nationally) to their Old Testament Covenant Worship of God: offering sacrifices once again.  They do not yet know their Messiah but when He returns “the second time” they will finally understand when they SEE Him.

* The as-yet-unrevealed-antichrist confirms the covenant with Israel and “the many” (nations) paving the way for the building of the temple.

To Jan:  You sent me a link to the Bible Codes and asked what I thought about them.  There are pros and cons to thinking about THE DAY OF THE LORD being ONE YEAR.  But I do not know how the PROCESS of accomplishing all that must be accomplished could possibly FIT into only one year….though it is plausible, and there are seemingly good reasons why it could.  However, until I can understand how in the next year the Battle of Ezekiel, the rebuilding of the temple, the two witnesses, the 7th Seal/7 Trumpets/7 Bowl judgments and all the rest could somehow be accomplished on one year, I’d have to sit down and plot it out.  Besides, as the timeline shows above, the next Jubilee Year will be in 2022.

To Greg:  As you can see on the timeline, I count the Jubilee year as the 1st year in the new sabbatical cycle.  It is the only way it will work.  I know there is a dispute among some scholars as to whether the Jubilee is counted either the same as the sabbath year, or the same as the 1st year in the new sabbath cycle, but I’ve plotted both and the only way it works is by counting the Jubilee/50th year as the 1st year of the new sabbatical cycle.

To blgloden:  Thank you again for seeing the omission-error.  It was my error, but thankfully, God meant it for good, for in searching for the remedy, I found confirmation of the timeline. The timeline is reset and remains intact….with the 70th Week/Third Week of Jacob’s Trouble (from which he will be saved out of) with the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ on Yom Kippur, 2022 – a JUBILEE YEAR!!!

P.S.:  I used to think if I was wrong I would lose ‘credibility’ (which has sometimes happened.)  But I have found that NOBODY HAS IT ALL RIGHT, BUT EVERYBODY HAS SOME OF IT RIGHT.   So, much like Randy’s idea of the missing pieces of a puzzle, if we can glean “a little here and a little there, line upon line, precept upon precept” eventually we are able to fit those pieces in the right places and the puzzle begins to be put together.  When we make honest errors, with no intent to deceive, I believe that the Lord can still “make all things work toward the good to those who love Him.”  I apologize for the mistake in the first timeline, but I am confident that with all the signs coming together in these last days, we will be excited as we WATCH and anticipate like a kid on Christmas morning…..for our redemption draweth night!

Until…….

More than one rapture?

Standard

The following is a post by a gentleman who has a theory that I have pondered for many years, 2 raptures. I have always wondered how serious Christians, who study eschatology, could come up with such different ideas about when the rapture occurs. Pre-Trip vs Post-Trib. Maybe they are both right!  This is worth a read. I’m sure you will find a juicy morsel or two in it.

Parallels in the Bible Redux
We’ve all heard it said that the Bible contain pictures, foreshadowing and types. But, perhaps we should approach the scriptures and recognize “parallels.” I pray you will see that the end-time church is…
The Two Feet of the Body of Christ

The Mystery of the End-Time Church

by Bruce Baber

The two feet of the statue in Daniel’s vision symbolize the end-time empire.

The two feet of the body of Christ symbolize the end-time church!

I was in the delivery room with my wife when both of our children were born. I remember how anxious and excited I was as a proud, expectant father. Both Suzanne and I were so relieved and happy when the doctor announced, “I can see the head!” In the moments that followed, there was a body and last, those two tiny feet. Our joy was fulfilled when we saw each of our children born whole and complete into this world.

Of course, the joy we felt cannot equal God’s joy with the birth of His church. After all, He had waited and planned for it for so long! Is the analogy accurate? Is the comparison of a baby’s birth to the church’s birth a fair comparison to make? Absolutely! The church is the Body of Christ and He is the head. The Bible states this in a number of passages quite clearly. See Ephesians 4:12 and 5:23.

Here also is what Paul wrote in I Corinthians.
1 Corinthians 12:12-26
12 The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its p arts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. 13 For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body–whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free–and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. 14 Now the body is not made up of one part but of many. 15 If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body.

Knowing that we are part of the body of Christ, we may also find it interesting to go back and read Psalm 139. It certainly speaks about how God formed us in the womb and knew us before we were born as individuals into this world. However, when we view this Psalm in terms of the birth of the church as Christ’s body, i t takes on both a very symbolic and prophetic meaning.

In fact, there are many places in the Bible that hint at what was to become the future birth of the church. But, once we begin to focus on the birth of the church and begin to think in those terms, we are left with a very obvious conclusion. If the church is born into this world like a baby, with first the head (Christ) appearing, followed in succession by the other parts of the body, then the end-time church would naturally have to be the feet.

We, the end-time church, are the feet of the Body of Christ! This fact is important. It allows us to see if God has foreshadowed any events which relate to this part of the church. Now that we know how to look for it, we find that the Bible has a great deal to tell us!

It seems staggering to me that so much has been written on the two feet of the image which appears in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream which is found in the book of Daniel. Volumes and volumes! Daniel, him se lf, tells us that the feet of the statue represent the end-time empire. We know this is the revived Roman Empire. Much has been said in books, sermons, lectures and discussions about the feet of the statue. If the Bible gives us so much to go on regarding the feet of the image in the book of Daniel, isn’t it possible that the Bible would give us at least as much detail about the end-time church? In fact, it gives us a great amount.

Ecclesiastes 1:9

“That which has been is what will be… that which is done is what will be done…” (Ecc. 1:9).

God reveals Himself, His character and even His plans in parallels. Always the same pattern of parallels. Let me assert that a surface reading of the scriptures will provide all the knowledge you may need or desire, but shouldn’t we want to explore deeper? The idea of studying the scriptures and looking for parallels is not new at all. Robert Lowth, professor at Oxford in the 1750’s, wrote that the Hebrews composed their poetry using parallels and furthermore said, “The writings of the prophets are in general poetical.” Lowth understood that the word naba in Hebrew (translated over 100 times in the Old Testament as prophecy) could equally mean prophet or poet.

The Jews understood parallels. To illustrate, here’s one example of a parallel in their poetry. Psalm 119: “…Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Lowth called this kind of parallel a synonymous parallel. Lowth called opposite parallels antithetic parallels. Here’s an example he used. Proverbs 15:2…The tongue of the wise makes knowledge acceptable, But the mouth of fools spouts folly. I prefer the terms parallel and antiparallel (a term used in geometry to describe a parallel with lines going in opposite directions).

One of the best places to find a multitude of parallels is found in the book of Genesis where the life of Joseph has over twenty parallels to the life of Christ. Here are some of the parallels between Joseph and Jesus, some of which are actual and some are figurative:

They were both sons of a wealthy, loving father. They were both shepherds. Each was given a special coat. Joseph had a coat of many colors and Jesus had a garment sewn without seams. They were both taken to Egypt. They both became servants and were elevated to royal status. They started their ministry at thirty. They were filled with the Spirit. They gave bread to the hungry. They resisted temptations. They prophesied. They both were falsely accused and condemned between two prisoners. In each case, one prisoner was saved and one was not. Joseph married (a gentile bride) just before the seven years of famine and Jesus will take His bride before the seven years of tribulation!

A sidenote: Just as there are parallels in the Bible, there are also antiparallels (a term used in geometry for two parallel lines going in opposite directions). A familiar antiparallel can be seen when John uses the term antichrist as opposite to Christ.

God’s nature is revealed by also understanding that the Holy Spirit is named the Paraclete. The Greek word paraclete is often translated as “Comforter.” But the literal translation is “One who is called along side… or walks beside (or parallel). Our Lord Jesus taught in parables which are stories with parallel meanings. In other words you have the surface text of the story, but it has a subsurface parallel that has a deeper, richer import. Jewish poetry was composed of parallels. Bible prophecies were also parallels! We can begin to see the pattern of God .

When we consider bible parallels, many come instantly to mind.

First Adam / Second Adam

Creation / New Creation

Born / Born again

Sacrificial lamb / Lamb of God

First coming of Christ / Second coming of Christ

Jerusalem / New Jerusalem (and on and on)

Speaking of Jerusalem in terms of parallels, we can perhaps speculate that it was the original site of the garden of Eden. If that sounds farfetched, let me explain. Eden, we are told, is geographically associated with two rivers we now find in Iraq which was ancient Babylon. They are the Tigris and Euphrates. But they are mentioned in Genesis before the flood which would have significantly altered the landscape. There is another river associated with Eden. It is the Pison. It could be roughly equivalent to the Jordan. A fourth river associated with Eden is the Gihon whose name persists to this day for a spring located in Jerusalem.

If Eden was the site for Jerusalem, how fitting it would be that it is the very place where Jesus will rule from in eternity. Taking this thought further, we now have a satisfying and logical explanation for Melchizedek’s residence at Salem (Genesis 14:18). Also, God’s call of Abram out of Ur and into the promised land cannot be seen as randomly chosen, but rather as a return to the original place of blessing. Continuing a search for parallels brings us to the possible association with the ineffective fig leaves used by Adam and Eve and the fig tree cursed by Jesus in the same place.

The first Adam was tried in a garden. How fitting that Jesus would face His greatest trial in what may be the same place. The garden of Gethsemane. The place where Adam failed may be the same place where Jesus had His ultimate triumph. The first Adam slept in the garden and then received a bride taken from his side. The second Adam slept in a garden tomb and while He slept, out of His pierced side, God fashioned for Him a bride!

Consider the tree of life seen in Eden. When we see it next in Revelation, it is in the New Jerusalem which comes down to earth on the same spot.

Consider how Golgotha get its name… place of the skull? David buried Goliath’s head there (see 1 Samuel 17:54). The place of Christ’s crucifixion is identical with the place of the burial of the head of Goliath. This makes complete sense out of the prophecy given by God Himself in Genesis 3:15. “I will enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; and it shall bruise thy head, and thou shall bruise his heel.” It is interesting to speculate if the foot of the cross actually crushed the skull of Goliath there in the same place.

Some parallels are readily apparent. Some have to be searched out. For example, you would have to know the details of the Jewish feast days, new moon observances and Sabbaths in order to see how they picture Jesus as Paul shared with us in Colossians 2: 16,17.

Now then, some parallels can’t even be found until you translate the original language. Let me illustrate. KJV Genesis 6:14 says…”Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.” The Hebrew word for pitch used the first time in that verse is kaphar which literally translated means to cover, or make atonement. The second time the word pitch is used it is kopher which literally means price of a life, or ransom. Both words are related to kapporeth which means lid of the ark, or mercy seat. Knowing this we can easily see that Noah’s ark has a parallel. I learned that by listening to Adrian Rogers who was president of the Southern Baptist Convention years ago.

Nearly every book in the Old Testament has God’s imprint on the New Testament by way of a parallel… like hidden seams of gold that can be dug out. These parallels foretell of future people and events. The Genesis story of Joseph parallels the life of Christ. The book of Ruth gives us a foretaste of the kinsman redeemer. You’ll no doubt see other parallels in the Song of Solomon and in many other places.

Allow me to speculate on the book of Esther with the expectation of discovering a parallel that didn’t come to light until the last seventy years, or so. I’m not the first one to see this by a long shot. This is the parallel between Haman’s ten sons in the Purim story and the Nuremberg trials following World War II. In 1946, ten Nazi war criminals were hung for their horrific crimes. In the Purim story, the Talmud claims that Haman’s daughter committed suicide rather than being dragged off to be hung with her brothers. Herman Goring also committed suicide rather than being hung before his scheduled execution. Thus the number of Nazis who were actually hung was ten… the same number as Haman’s sons. One of the Nazi defendants even proclaimed these words… “Purim fest 1946.”

The uncanny parallel to the story of Esther doesn’t end there. Since the trial was conducted by a military tribunal, the sentence should have been by firing squad, or the electric chair as practiced in the U.S. However, the court prescribed hanging, exactly as in Esther’s request. While I am purposely skimming over some other parallel events, let me relate this next one.

If you read the Purim story in the Megillat Hebrew version (written during the Roman occupation), you will find that 4 Hebrew letters are different from the way they should appear. This is in the Megillat Esther story where the ten sons of Haman are mentioned. Jewish sages have taught that whenever there is a variation of a letter, or spelling of a word in the text, then God must have a specific meaning. Thus the four Hebrew letters were examined and made to represent numbers (which is common in Hebrew). The four letters became 5-7-0-7. Incidentally, on the Jewish callendar the year 5707 was the year 10 Nazi war criminals were hung. The year 5707 was 1946. “That which has been is what will be.” (source unitedwithisrael.org)

Now lets take a look at the Hebrew word for parallel. It ismoshel.” Strangely, moshel is related to empire and dominion according to Strong’s Concordance. On a personal note, I first became fascinated by bible parallels and antiparallels by examining the statue in Daniel. You know the one. Head of gold, arms and chest of silver, belly of brass, legs of iron, feet of clay mixed with iron. Each successive component represents a different empire. The antiparallel to the evil empires represented by the statue in Daniel would have to have its reverse image in the New Testament by my way of thinking. I find it in the body of Christ with Christ as the head which is followed in succession by the other parts in the same order as a baby is born into the world. The last part to be born is the feet. I thus concluded that the end-time church was the feet of the body of Christ. If my understanding of God’s pattern of using parallels is correct, we the end-time church are the feet of the body of Christ just as the feet of the statue in Daniel are the end-time empire. It is an antiparallel!

I remember something that happened to me when I was a young boy. I was fishing with some older boys at a pond. Sunning itself beside the water’s edge was a poisonous copperhead snake. I didn’t see it. I stepped right on top of it. The moment it moved under my foot, I saw it and jumped. That snake was mad! It came after me. Thankfully, my friends were there to chase it away with their fishing poles. But, had that snake caught me, it would surely have bitten me on the back of my heel. I was running from it. My heel was the only place it could have struck me. When Satan chases and persecutes the end-time, left behind church, which is represented symbolically by the second foot, he will surely bruise and afflict the heel of that foot which is fleeing from him. One foot of the church will be beyond his grasp. It will have departed.

Having arrived at the personal conclusion that the end-time church was also the feet of the body of Christ, I looked at the first time a foot appeared in the bible. I wrote my observation in a paper titled “The Two Feet of the Body of Christ”. I wrote it over twenty years ago.

Here’s the first time a foot is alluded to in the bible. To recap… Genesis 3:15 says that Satan will bruise the heel of the woman’s seed. Bible commentators have always said this refers to the crucifixion. I agree. But I also assert that the bible doesn’t make mistakes and the term used in Genesis is singular not plural. Whereas Jesus’s feet were pierced, my perception was that Satan would only bruise one heel. One heel. I pondered that. Might this be a veiled reference to Satan persecuting one of the two feet …which is a representation of the end-time church? One foot having been taken away in the rapture, leaving another foot or part of the church to be persecuted? Well, that’s certainly the conclusion I arrived at.

However, doesn’t the bible also say in 1 Thessalonians that we are not appointed to (God’s) wrath? I can see where part of the church would have to endure Satan’s persecution, but not God’s wrath when He pours out the bowls of His wrath beginning somewhere around the middle of the tribulation. Would that mean that there is a second rapture? Only if there are two pictures or parallels depicting two raptures in the bible. And there are! We have the Old Testament rapture of Enoch who was taken on an ordinary day. We also have Elijah who was taken after about three years of persecution.

Enoch walked with God on an ordinary day and was taken to heaven. We don’t know much else about that, but it is commonly accepted that it was a picture of the rapture. But now look at Elijah. He was persecuted and forced to go into hiding. Luke 4 says, “25 I assure you that there were many widows in Israel in Elijah’s time, when the sky was shut for three and a half years and there was a severe famine throughout the land. 26 Yet Elijah was not sent to any of them, but to a widow in Zarephath in the region of Sidon.” Second Kings says Elijah was taken up to heaven in a whirlwind.

The two parallels to these past events of the the two raptures (Enoch and Elijah) seem to fit with the raptures of the church that was ready at the first rapture preceding the seven years of tribulation on an ordinary day …and a second rapture half way through the seven year tribulation (after three and a half years).

It’s time to look at Jesus’s parable of the 10 virgins. Here is the parable that Jesus taught…

Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there not be enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying Lord, Lord , open to us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. (Matt 25).

Now compare that parable to this passage in Luke.

35 “Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, 36 like men waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him. 37 It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. I tell you the truth, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them. 38 It will be good for those servants whose master finds them ready, even if he comes in the second or third watch of the night.

The passage in Luke refers to the Master returning FROM a wedding feast!

Did you notice that in the parable of the “virgins/brides” that the bridegroom comes at midnight? Now look at a different scripture. Luke 12:38 says… “And if he should come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.

Does this mean that the first foot caught up in the rapture joins the others in Heaven to be the bride of Christ and join Him in the marriage supper? Does this mean that the second foot which is caught up later is not the bride, but is still considered His servants? Perhaps.

The book of Joel has a passage about the Holy Spirit being given to waiting servants…

Joel: 17 ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. 18 And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy. 19 I will show wonders in heaven above And signs in the earth beneath: Blood and fire and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. 21 And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved.’

Perhaps you believe no one will get saved during the tribulation after the rapture. However, Revelation says there will be persecution and beheadings during the tribulation doesn’t it?

My focus on parallels is merely a curious study if I can’t back it up with more examples. We have two examples of raptures happening to two different people in two completely different circumstances. Enoch and Elijah. Enoch. We find him raptured way back in Genesis. He is the first one to have ever been taken away. But, he isn’t the last one! There is further foreshadowing of a second Rapture. Elijah. He foreshadows the Rapture of the second foot of the persecuted end-time church. Elijah’s life perfectly represents the church of the persecution during the Tribulation. At various times he had to go into hiding. He was persecuted by King Ahab and his wife Jezebel who participated in the vilest forms of idolatry. Of special interest is the fact that during a period of about three years, there was a severe drought and famine. He had to leave his country and live with a widow who miraculously supplied him with food. On another occasion, Elijah was supplied with food by ravens. Later, he was helped by an angel who provided food and water. At various times, Elijah would say he was the only believer left.

Taken together, all these instances make a dramatic parallel to the events which transpire for the Christians who have to go through the persecution. Not being able to buy or sell, they will be forced from their homes and depend on miraculous provision from God. They too may feel like they are the only true believers who are left. However, they are not alone. God will not abandon them just as he did not abandon Elijah. Moreover, the persecuted Christians will have the same source of strength that Elijah had. They will receive the Holy Spirit. Remember what the Amplified Bible calls the Holy Spirit? He is called the Comforter, Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby.

Do I Have any Other Proof?

Up to this point, if you only believe there is one rapture and that it occurs before the tribulation, then how do you reconcile your belief with Genesis 18:22-33? Read this passage directly from the New International Version.

Genesis 18:23-33. “Then Abraham approached him and said: “Will you sweep away the righteous with the wicked? 24 What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will you really sweep it away and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people in it? 25 Far be it from you to do such a thing–to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. Far be it from you! Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?” 26 The Lord said, “If I find fifty righteous people in the city of Sodom, I will spare the whole place for their sake.” 27 Then Abraham spoke up again: “Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, though I am nothing but dust and ashes, 28 what if the number of the righteous is five less than fifty? Will you destroy the whole city because of five people?” “If I find forty-five there,” he said, “I will not destroy it.” 29 Once again he spoke to him, “What if only forty are found there?” He said, “For the sake of forty, I w ill not do it.” 30 Then he said, “May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak. What if only thirty can be found there?” He answered, “I will not do it if I find thirty there.” 31 Abraham said, “Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, what if only twenty can be found there?” He answered, “I will not do it if I find thirty there.”32 Then he said, “May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak just once more. What if only ten can be found there?” He answered, “For the sake of ten, I will not destroy it.” 33 When the Lord had finished speaking with Abraham, he left, and Abraham returned home.

If God won’t even destroy a city such as wicked Sodom, how can you accept an unchangeable God destroying the world unless you accept that no one will get saved after the rapture of the Bride? I contend that people will get saved. They will endure persecution and death. They will be caught up to Heaven in a second rapture.

The story of Abraham leaving the area of Sodom would parallel the first rapture. Read the story about Lot. He is warned to leave Sodom too. But not until moments before God’s wrath is poured out on the city! This would be the parallel to a prewrath rapture which presumably occurs at the midpoint of the tribulation.

I have compared the end-time church with the two feet of the body of Christ.

On two separate occasions, Jesus’ feet were anointed with a costly perfume. Luke 7:38 and John 12:3 describe two separate, but similar events. In each case, Jesus’ feet were anointed with costly perfume. Read the passages and compare them for yourself. They are two separate events! One occurs in the house of a Pharisee and other event occurs in the home of Mary and Martha. Here is what John Wesley said in his commentary on Luke 7:37. “A woman – Not the same with Mary of Bethany, who anointed him six days before his last Passover. ”

The perfume is symbolic of the Holy Spirit. What a perfectly harmonious analogy! The church which goes in the first Rapture has the Holy Spirit. Later, the remaining church is given the Holy Spirit! This brings me to an important point. The very reason that part of the church is left behind at the first Rapture is because they are living without the power of the Holy Spirit in their lives right now! They will be left out of the first event and have to live through a terrible persecution because they are not living for Jesus in the present. What a terrible tragedy!

I believe that for a period of time, the church of the persecution (symbolized by the second foot of Christ) will have to endure without the Holy Spirit. They will be like Jeremiah, who in Lamentations 1:16, said, “For these things I weep; my eyes flow with tears, because a comforter, one who could refresh and restore my soul, is far from me…” (Amplified Bible). But, please remember that God will not abandon this church. They will be sent the Holy Spirit. After all, it was ten days after Jesus departed this world before the Holy Spirit was sent.

Two Trumpet Calls

When the Jews were wandering in the wilderness, before entering the Promised Land, there were two trumpet calls in the morning to prepare the people to move out. The first one called the leaders of the tribes. The second one called the remainder of the people. Just as with the ancient Jews, there will be two trumpet calls for the church. Both trumpet calls are to the two coming rapture events.

Christians are taught to think that salvation and the rapture are the same. They are related, but not necessarily the same. All 10 virgins saw that the bridegroom was coming, but only 5 were taken to the wedding.

The Bible is composed of parallels. It is revealed in Jewish poetry. It is revealed in prophecy. It is revealed in God’s nature and the very name of the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete. I believe the end-time church is represented by the two feet of the body of Christ and that there is a pre-tribulation rapture for those who are ready and watching for it and filled with the Holy Spirit. I believe there will be also a second rapture during the tribulation for those who are left behind. Meaning they will undergo persecution for their belief, but be taken out before the wrath of God is poured out.

At the risk of repeating myself, God over and over again uses parallels to reveal Himself, His character and His plans. We see the patterns… His patterns… in the parallel lines drawn in dozens, perhaps hundreds of places. I would agree that a surface reading and comprehension of the Bible is sufficient. Afterall, one only has to grasp John 3:16. However, there is tremendous benefit in understanding the original language and the implications of the hidden parallels. I conclude by again repeating Ecclesiastes 1:9 which reveals the pattern… “That which has been is what will be… that which is done is what will be done.”

The following is another post from the Five Doves website. This free ebook  succinctly covers much of what I have studied and discerned to be true. The one thing I have not researched that Randy mentions is the Divine Calander. So, I don’t put my stamp of approval on it yet but I highly recommend everyone take the hour or so needed to read this book.  It is only 39 pages. I hope this is a great blessing to you because it took me almost 15 years to find all of this information!

By the way, I am anonymously mentioned in the book. I am the person who alerted the author to the book The Equation by Malcolm Isted. Enjoy!

Here is the link to the FREE DOWNLOAD of this book:    www.thelastpieceofthepuzzlebook.com

This is the detailed outline:  Please let me know what you think of the book…..and please share it and pass it along……time is short !!

Fulfilled Prophecies of the Last Days

By Carl Worline

Prophecy is history written in advance. Bible prophecies about what is going to happen in the end times were written from 1900 to 3500 years ago. God challenged anyone else to come up with prophecy like that which is found in the Bible. God offers this to us as proof that He is who He says He is. The Old Testament tells us that God gave us prophecy so that the people of the earth may know that the Lord is God and that there is no other.

Bible prophecy is given to mankind in order to help validate and authenticate the word of God and it is a promise as well as a prediction.

Christians who study prophecy and eagerly look forward to the coming of our Lord will earn the Crown of Righteousness (2 Timothy 4:8).   I. for one, really want the privilege of having and wearing that crown.

The Bible is absolutely unique. No other religious writings of any kind contain predictive prophecies like the Bible.

  • Not the Islamic Koran or the Hadith.
  • Not the Jewish Tanaka or the Talmud.
  • Not the Hindu Vedas or the Bhagavad Gita.
  • Not Confucianism’s Five Classics or the Analects.
  • Not Taoism’s ao-te-ching, or Zhuangzi, or Daozang.
  • Not the Druze Rasail al-hikmah (Epistles of Wisdom).
  • Not the Shinto Kojiki or the Nihon Shoki.

This is the first time in history that all of the prophetic scenarios that the prophets predicted are actually in view. We are being plunged into a period of time about which the Bible says more than about any other period in history, including the time when Jesus walked the shores of Galilee and climbed the mountains of Judea.   Everything is now coming together in the perfect prophetic storm. We are, quite literally, being plunged into the climax of human history.

There is prophecy in each and every book of the Bible. The Second Coming is mentioned in 23 of the 27 books of the New Testament. Of the 46 Old Testament prophets, less than 10 speak of Christ’s first coming, but 36 speak of His Second Coming.

Jesus said that He was coming back again 21 times in the New Testament. If Jesus says this we should truly believe Him.

The Bible clearly teaches that the understanding of end time prophecy will be progressive in nature. We will understand more of the prophecies as we get closer to the time of their fulfillment. Daniel did not understand the prophecies that had been entrusted to him.   When he complained to the Lord about this the Lord told him to not worry but to write them down as instructed because they were sealed until the end times.

As for me, I heard but could not understand; so I said “My lord, what will be the outcome of these events?” And He said, “Go your way, Daniel, for these words are concealed and sealed up until the end time (Daniel 12:8-9 NAS).

Jeremiah was also told that his prophecies would not be understood until the end times.

The anger of the Lord will not turn back until He performed and carried out the purposes of His heart. In the last days you will clearly understand it (Jeremiah 23:3).

The fierce anger of the Lord will not turn back until He has performed and until He has accomplished the intent of His heart. In the latter days you will understand this (Jeremiah 30:24).

We are now in the last days of the end times. In order to understand what is happening we have to look at them from two perspectives. One of these perspectives is the prophecies that have been fulfilled with respect to Israel. The other perspective is all of the other fulfilled prophecies that deal with the last days.

Fulfilled Prophecies of Israel in the Last Days

For the first time in history an extinct nation came back into existence.   Israel became a nation once again exactly as God promised (Joel 3:1-2, Amos 9, Jeremiah 31, Ezekiel 36).

God restored Israel as a nation in a single day, exactly as promised (Isaiah 66-8).

Prior to restoring the nation of Israel the Hebrew language was on the brink of extinction. Once again, just as God promised, the Hebrew language was restored (Zephaniah 3:9).

The Bible predicted that during the Jewish Diaspora Israel would become a wasteland (Deuteronomy 29:23-28, Ezekiel 36:8-11, Ezekiel 36:34-36). For nearly 1900 years Israel became a nearly uninhabited, desolate wasteland. Today the land flourishes far beyond any of her surrounding neighbors.

The Bible predicted that Israel would blossom in the last days and export produce to the world (Isaiah 27:6, Isaiah 35:1-2, Ezekiel 36:34-36). With God’s blessing Israel’s increased rainfall and irrigation technology have caused the land to blossom.   Israel exports $800 million of produce each year and over $200 million in ornamental plants and flowers.

The Bible predicted that Israel would prosper economically (Ezekiel 38:12-13).   Israel exported $42 billion dollars worth of goods in 2006, as compared with her neighbor Jordan, who exported $5 billion dollars worth of goods in the same year. Eighty percent of Europe’s citrus imports come from Israel.

The Bible predicted that Jerusalem would be rebuilt in the last days on its old ruins, which is exactly what happened (Jeremiah 30:18, Zechariah 12:6).

Ezekiel told us over 2500 years ago that in the last days the Arab people will claim the land of Israel which God gave to the Jews (Ezekiel 35:5, 10; 36:2,5).

The Bible says that in the end times Israel will be in possession of Jerusalem. This happened on June 7, 1967 as a result of the Six-Day War (Daniel 9:27, Matthew 24:15, 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4, Revelation 11:1-2).

The Bible predicted that Jerusalem would be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled (Luke 21:24). > From 70 AD until the Six-Day War in 1967, Jerusalem was under Gentile control.

The Bible says that in the last days the possession of Jerusalem will be a major source of international conflict (Zechariah 12:3). Zechariah called Jerusalem a burdensome stone and a cup of trembling. Over 2,500 years ago God knew that in the last days Jerusalem’s very existence would cause the world to shudder even though it is a small city with no natural resources, no port, as well as having insignificant manufacturing and industrial capabilities. Prior to 1948 world diplomatic leaders seldom mentioned Jerusalem.

The Bible also tells us that in the last days Israel will be embroiled in peace talks that will include many nations (Daniel 9:27).

Ezekiel prophesied that Jerusalem’s Eastern Gate would remain closed until the Messiah returns (Ezekiel 37:15-22). Today, as prophesied, the eastern Gate remains sealed.

The Bible says that in the last days all of the friends that Israel had will be gone, abandoning the Jews (Jeremiah 30:14).

The Lord warned Israel that it would be hated and persecuted by all nations because of Him (Matthew 24:9).

The prophet Joel foretold that the modern state of Israel would be partitioned by the nations (Joel 3:2 and Daniel 11:39). Today we see the Gaza Strip and the West Bank partitioned off for the Palestinians and the Golan Heights partitioned off for Syria.   Jerusalem has also been partitioned with the Palestinians adamantly demanding East Jerusalem for their capital.

The Bible says that in the last days Aliyah will be taking place.   Aliyah is a Hebrew word that means the physical return of the Jewish people (Jewish Diaspora) to their ancient Promised Land from abroad. Ynet News recently reported that 2014 was a record year for Aliyah (Ezekiel 36:22-28 and Isaiah 11:10-12).

The Bible says that in the last days world politics will be focused on Israel (Zechariah 12:13).

Just prior to the rapture Israel will be surrounded on every side by enemies. The alignment of all of the nations mentioned in Psalm 83 and Ezekiel 38 against Israel has occurred exactly as Asaph and Ezekiel described.

God said that in the last days Israel would be invincible (Zechariah 12:6-9). Since 1948 tiny Israel has been attacked in 3 major wars and several lesser wars. Yet, despite being vastly outnumbered, they have defeated all attacking foes. An invincible Israel makes no sense unless you believe God’s Word.

Even though Israel will be the focus of many fulfilled prophecies in the last days, most Jews will remain blind to the fact that Jesus is their Messiah until the very end (Luke 19:41-42, Luke 13:34-35, Romans 11:25-26).

Other Fulfilled Prophecies of the End Times

Jesus, Himself, told us that we are to watch for general indicators that will be a signal to Christians that we are, indeed, in the end times and that the rapture is near. What are these general indicators?

Earthquakes will increase in frequency and intensity and will be occurring globally (Matthew 24:7, Luke 21:11, Isaiah 24:19-20, Revelation 6:12-14, Revelation 16:18-20).

Matthew 24 and Luke 21 speak of strange weather occurring in the last days. Can anybody deny that our weather today can only be described as supernaturally freakish? Even more frightening is that our weather seems to be becoming even more freakish with each passing month.

Our freakish weather seems to be contributing to an alarmingly large number of forest fires all around the world. Trees that are many hundreds of years are now gone. At the moment, as I write this, Australian firefighters are battling the worst wildfires in 30 years.

Romans 8:20-22 tells us that creation, itself, longs to be free from the curse and suffers from the increase in frequency and intensity of natural disasters that are not specifically named. Unexplainably strange sinkholes are opening up in places all around the world. Equally as strange are sounds that are being heard all over the world that have no apparent source and come from no apparent direction.

Joel 2:30 tells us that in the last days there would be signs in the heavens and in the earth that would include, among other things, “fire” and “pillars of smoke.” Volcanic activity has been increasing at an alarming rate in frequency and intensity as formerly dormant volcanoes come back to life. Pillars of fire and smoke are closing large blocks of airspace to commercial air traffic.

Hosea 4:1-3 tells us that in the last days the land will mourn because of man’s sin and that all who live in it will waste away. Hosea told us this will include the beasts of the field, the birds of the air, and even the fish in the sea will die.

  • Mass animal die-off were first reported in the news on New Year’s Eve 2010/2011when approximately 5,000+ red-winged blackbirds and starlings fell out of the sky in Bebe, Arkansas.
  • In 2011 there were 138 reported cases of mass animal die-offs.
  • In 2012 the number of mass animal deaths rose to 465 events that occurred in 67 countries around the world.
  • During 2013 there were 798 reported mass animal death events that occurred in 93 countries.
  • In 2014 there were 649 reported events of mass animal deaths that occurred in 76 countries.

Matthew 24:7 tells us that famines will be common in the last days. Currently, one out of every six people in the world does not get enough to eat. Aid agencies estimate that as much as one-third of the earth’s 6 billion people are victims of starvation. Every day 34,000 people die from famine related causes.

The Bible tells is that in the last days deadly diseases (pestilence) will be rampant. Examples of current deadly diseases that are spreading include AIDS, Ebola, Hanta virus, dengue, West Nile, SARS, bird flu, cholera, yellow fever, mad cow disease, lyme disease, drug resistant strains of many old diseases, and many more. Diseases we considered conquered, such as polio and the plague, are making a strong return. In sub-Saharan Africa 23 million children are infected with the HIV virus. Ironically, just a few decades ago scientists were forecasting that advances in medicine might soon eradicate deadly diseases (Matthew 24:7, Revelation 6:8, Luke 21:11).

We were warned that many will rejoice in their unrighteousness (2 Thessalonians 2:12). People are now calling good evil and evil good.   A perfect example of this is the way homosexuality and same sex marriage is being forced upon us as an honorable and even preferred alternative lifestyle while those who see homosexuality as sin are labeled as homophobic (Isaiah 5:20). Homosexuals are so proud of their sin that they march in the streets demanding to be recognized as a special, privileged class (2 Peter 3:3-4 and 2 Timothy 3:1-5.

2 Timothy 3:1-5 says: “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves . . . without natural affection.”   I interpret this verse as a reference to an increase in homosexuality throughout the world in the last days.

We are warned in the Bible that there will be a falling away of believers and an increase in false prophets (2 Timothy 4:1). Many Christians and church doctrines have departed from the faith. Many Christians have also become lukewarm in their faith (Revelation 3:15). There is now a mixture of true believers and false believers within the Church body (Matthew 13:24-30).

As foretold in the New Testament, despair is increasing (2 Timothy 3:1).

There has been an increase in lawlessness and evil during these the last days (Luke 17:26 and 2 Timothy 3:15).

The world is getting darker and waxing more evil by the minute.   The swiftness with which the darkness is setting in is unsettling. We were told that there would be an increase in blasphemy (2 Timothy 3:2). Sadly, this has come to pass. Unimaginably filthy things are openly being said about our mighty God and our precious Savior. Those who worship Satan are coming out of hiding and finding new ways impose their beliefs and agenda upon us. There are now public places in our great nation where satanic displays are allowed at Christmas and where Satan is invoked at public meetings.

Humanity has become increasingly materialistic and lovers of pleasure (2 Tim 3:1-5).

Idolatry has been common place. Idolatry is worshiping anything or anyone other than God (Revelation 9:20). We worship the rich and famous and long to be like them instead of being like people of God.

The love of many has grown cold (Matthew 24:11-13). Abortion kills millions. Feeding the homeless and hungry is becoming a crime in some places, punishable by fines and imprisonment. We find it more important to turn corn into ethanol to use as fuel in our automobiles while so much of the world’s population is dying from starvation and starvation related causes.

False Christs and false prophets are very effective in the art of deception (Matthew 24:24). False prophets and religious cults now flourish (2 Peter 2:1). It is very common today to find people who reject the Bible out of hand because they have heard it misrepresented by false teachers.

The false prophets mentioned above are money hungry, smooth talkers (2 Peter 2:3). A growing number of TV evangelists epitomize this. They twist the scriptures to make merchandise of the unwary.

There has been an increase in the persecution of Christians in these last days (Matthew 24:9). Jews and Christians are hated for their faith in and connection with Christ (Luke 21:17). Today Christians are being killed in Islamic nations around the world in an ever increasing escalation of violence and murder. Christianity now faces extinction in the Middle East and in other places around the world. Jihadist groups throughout the Islamic world have taken it upon themselves to slaughter those who are preaching the gospel.

Mankind is desperately seeking peace (1 Thessalonians 5:3) but yet there is still warfare all over the earth (Mark 13:8 and Matthew 24:6).   It is estimated that more people have died in wars during the 20th Century than in all other previous wars throughout all of recorded human history.

Today mockers of prophecy and the word of God abound (Jude 1:18 and 2 Peter 3:3-4).

Many Bible scholars believe that Zachariah 5 and Zachariah 14 strongly indicate that mankind will have nuclear weapons in the last days, especially when these chapters are examined using the Strong’s Concordance with a Hebrew lexicon.

The Bible tells us that in the last days many will deny that God created the earth or that God once flooded the Earth (2 Peter 3:5-6). Today science and Christianity have become bitter rivals. Science attempts to claim the moral high ground by citing “facts” while hypocritically refusing to consider any fact that is linked in any way to scripture.

Children have certainly become disobedient and rebellious (2 Timothy 3:2).

Humanity is now able to cross the globe rapidly (Daniel 12:4).   Our skies have become so crowded around the world that it is often difficult to safely separate aircraft, even with the use of computers.

A system of real time global communication now exists (Revelation 11:9). Today information travels at the speed of light. In the apostle John’s day information traveled at the speed of a donkey.

Science is now rapidly advancing (Daniel 12:4). It is conservatively estimated that the sum of man’s knowledge is doubled every 18 months.

Technology already exists that is capable of tracking the world’s population and finances (Revelation 13:16-17). This technology is currently being developed at an alarmingly fast and efficient pace. It just hasn’t been forcefully imposed yet.

The gospel is being preached to all nations (Matthew 24:14, Mark 13:10, Revelation 14:6). The Bible has been translated into 2,400 languages and dialects covering over 90 percent of the world’s population. Satellites and the internet have also played a major role in bringing the word of God to all nations.

Huge oil and natural gas reserves have been discovered beneath the sands of Israel in fulfillment of Deuteronomy 33:19.

The Bible says that in the last days the world will be headed toward a one world religion (Revelation 13; 17:7-18; 18:1-8). Today we see a movement called Christlam that attempts to find common ground that will allow Christians and Muslims to co-exist and is based on the assumption that we both worship the same god. That is a lie from the very pit of hell.

There are the strong beginnings for a push towards a worldwide global government (Revelation 13:1-2; 17:12-13, Daniel 7:23-26).

Before He was crucified, Jesus told the Sanhedrin that they would not see Him again until they said “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord” (Luke 13:35). This indicates that the Sanhedrin would have to be in existence before His Second Coming. The Sanhedrin were dispersed, as was the entire Jewish nation, after the Temple was destroyed in 70 AD. In 2004 the Sanhedrin formally came back into existence.

Conclusion

The proverbial writing is on the wall and it is telling me that the end of the Age of Grace is at hand. The pause in Daniel’s timeline that occurred at the 69th week is about to end. God has taken a people unto Himself during that pause and the fullness of the Gentiles is now being reached (Romans 11:25 and Acts 15:13-18).

The stage has been set and the actors are in place. Bible prophecy has been fulfilled (and continues to be fulfilled). The entire world senses that something big is about to happen. Christians who are awake and watching are waiting with eager anticipation for the rapture of the Church. Sleeping Christians find restful peace illusive due to a stirring in their soul that they just cannot escape. Atheists are angry because they also feel that something just is not right. Even the mockers are angry. There are far too many signs that the Age of Grace is about to end for them to ridicule.

Every prophetic sign seems to point to an imminent rapture.   Salvation is currently a free gift to all who will admit they are a sinner and sincerely ask Jesus for forgiveness and salvation. At the moment of the rapture that invitation will no longer be available.   What is your personal relationship with God?

Jesus said when you see these things begin to come to pass to lift up your head and look because your redemption draws near (Mathew 24:33, Mark 13:29, and Luke 21:31). We have definitely reached the beginning of these things.

What did Jesus write in the “sand”?

Standard

What did Jesus write in the “sand”?

For years I have pondered,” What did Jesus write?” That was an enigma that has kept me thinking.  God gives puzzles. If the Holy Spirit had told us what Jesus wrote, we might have missed something amazing!

JEWISH_TEMPLE00000003

Here is the passage where it describes the episode of the woman caught in adultery.

John 8 New International Version (NIV)

but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.

At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.

But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.

At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”

11 “No one, sir,” she said.

“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”

If you are like me, you “assumed” that Jesus wrote in the sand because in our natural experience, that is how we could do it. So I did some research about the temple courts. This is what I found:

http://www.bible-history.com/jewishtemple/JEWISH_TEMPLESolomons_Porticos.htm

JEWISH_TEMPLE00000000 2The Jewish Temple in the First Century A.D.

When Jesus came to Jerusalem, the Temple had just been marvelously rebuilt by Herod the Great. The Temple area had been enlarged to a size of about thirty-five acres. Around the Temple area were double colonnades.

The Jewish historian Josephus describes the colonnades:

“All the cloisters were double, and the pillars to them belonging were twenty-five cubits in height, and supported -the cloisters. These pillars were of one entire stone each of them, and that stone was white marble; and the roofs were adorned with cedar, curiously graven. The natural magnificence, and excellent polish, and the harmony of the joints in these cloisters, afforded a prospect that was very remarkable; nor was it on the outside adorned with any work of the painter or engraver. The cloisters -(of the outmost court) were in breadth thirty cubits, while the entire compass of it was by measure six furlongs, including the tower of Antonia; those entire courts that were exposed to the air were laid with stones of all sorts (Jewish War 5. 5. 2).

So, Jesus knelt down and wrote in the stone! The 10 commandments were written in stone by the finger of God. The Pharisees were trying to trap Jesus with the law and He showed them He wrote the law!!!! Hallelujah!
